Overview
The JLPT N4 course is designed for learners who have completed JLPT N5 or have basic Japanese knowledge. It strengthens your foundation in grammar, vocabulary, and kanji while enabling you to handle more complex daily situations in Japanese. The course also prepares you for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N4.

Course Structure
Our JLPT N4 – Elementary Japanese Course course is structured to provide comprehensive coverage of all exam sections.
Requirements
- JLPT N5 level knowledge or equivalent
- A notebook and pen for writing practice
- Japanese keyboard setup on phone/PC
- Dedicate 7–10 hours per week for study and practice
- Active participation in class
Instructions
- Attend all live sessions or catch up with recordings if missed
- Complete assignments and quizzes regularly
- Practice kanji and vocabulary daily with flashcards
- Attempt mock tests to track exam readiness
- Engage in speaking practice with peers/in class

- Expressing experience (〜たことがある)
- Simultaneous actions (〜ながら)
- Intention & plans (〜ようと思う, 〜つもり, ～よてい)
- Expressing ability & potential (〜れる, 〜ことができる)
- Giving and receiving favour（～てあげる, ～てくれる, ～てもらう)
- Volitional, Passive, Causative, Passive-Causative forms
- Conditional forms (〜と, 〜ば, 〜たら, 〜なら)
- Quoting and hearsay (〜そうだ, 〜と言う)
- Expressing completion/regret (〜てしまう)
- Introduction to Honorific forms (敬語) and more.
- ~1,500 vocabulary words (daily life, travel, work, emotions, weather, etc.)
- ~300 kanji (school, transportation, nature, time, common verbs/adjectives)
- Short essays & passages (letters, messages, blogs, simple articles)
- Reading comprehension with context clues
- Strategies for scanning/skimming for JLPT questions
- Short conversations in daily life, announcements, and instructions
- Listening strategies for speed and comprehension
- Distinguish key words, connectors, and implied meaning
- Talk about experiences and future plans
- Give opinions, advice, and suggestions
- Polite and casual speech practice
- Roleplay: travel, shopping, work, school, emergencies
- Exercises from Genki II, SouMatome & Minna no Nihongo
- Vocabulary & Kanji flashcards
