by | Aug 8, 2025 | Japanese, JLPT N5 | 0 comments

Introduction

If you’re planning to appear for the JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) in India, this is your one-stop guide. The JLPT is conducted in multiple Indian cities twice a year—in July and December. However, the registration process varies by city.

In this blog, you’ll get a city-wise step-by-step guide for JLPT registration in India for 2025, along with official application links.

What is JLPT?

The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is an internationally recognized exam conducted by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services. It is held twice a year — in July and December — to assess the Japanese language skills of non-native speakers across five levels (N5 to N1).

Whether you’re aiming for:

  • A career in Japanese companies
  • Higher education in Japan
  • Japan-related translation or interpretation jobs
  • Or simply improving your language skills

JLPT certification adds great value to your resume and global opportunities.

In India, the JLPT is conducted in multiple cities through designated host institutions, each responsible for its own registration process, timeline, and fee payment methods.
