JLPT 2026 Exam Results: Quick Guide for Indian Students to Check Online

by | Aug 22, 2025 | Japanese, JLPT N5 | 0 comments

Introduction

If you appeared for the JLPT in India, the wait is finally over—your results are available online! But many students get confused while checking them, especially since the JLPT site is mainly in English and Japanese and can feel overwhelming. Don’t worry—we’ll walk you through the process step by step (with screenshots) so you can check your JLPT results smoothly, just like thousands of Indian learners do every year.

When Will JLPT 2026 Results Be Announced?

The JLPT results will be released online from 30th January 2026.

Since India is 3.5 hours behind Japan Standard Time, make sure you calculate the timing correctly. For example, 10:00 AM JST is 6:30 AM IST.

⚠️ After May 1, you won’t be able to access your online results—so check them as soon as possible!

How to check JLPT 2026 results (India)

Step 1 — Visit the official JLPT Results Portal

👉 Click here to check your JLPT result on the official website

This is the authentic site where you can see your results. Avoid searching random links on Google—there are many unofficial blogs that redirect you.

Step 2 — Choose “Other countries”

Once on the results page, you’ll see different regions listed—Japan, China, Korea, etc. Since India falls under “Other countries”, that’s the option you need to click.

Many students mistakenly click “Japan” or “China” and get login errors. So make sure you select Other countries.

Click this Option to move ahead.

Step 3 — Scroll down and click “See your results

After selecting “Other countries,” you’ll be redirected to a page with instructions and notes. Don’t get confused by the extra text—just scroll down until you see the button labeled “See your results.”

Click that button to move ahead.

💡 Tip: Many students stop at this page thinking results aren’t released yet. Remember—you have to scroll to actually find the button.

Step 4 — Enter your Registration Number & Passcode

Now comes the login screen. Here, you’ll be asked to enter two things:

  1. Registration Number — something like 24B1234567-12345 (this is on your application slip).
  2. Passcode — an 8-digit number you set while applying for JLPT.

Fill in both carefully and click Login.

👉 Common mistakes Indian students face:

  • Mixing up Registration No. with the Application ID.
  • Forgetting the Passcode (check your email confirmation or application form).
  • Copy-pasting spaces accidentally.

If login still doesn’t work, don’t panic—contact your Indian test centre (Delhi MOSAI, Chennai, Pune, Bengaluru, Kolkata, etc.) with your details.

Step 5 — View your score report

Once logged in, your official online score report will be displayed. It includes:

  • Your JLPT Level (N1–N5)
  • Result: Pass or Fail
  • Section scores: Vocabulary/Grammar/Reading + Listening
  • Total score out of 180
  • Reference information: A/B/C grades for each section

⚠️ Note :- JLPT doesn’t just look at your overall score. You also need to clear the sectional minimums. For example, even if you get 120/180, you can still fail if one section (like Listening) is below the cutoff.

Download, save & certificate collection

Once you see your result, make sure to:

  • Take a screenshot or PDF (in case you need it quickly for job or study applications).
  • Wait for your official printed score report & certificate, which arrives from your Indian test centre a few weeks later.

This printed certificate is very important—it’s the document accepted for:

  • University admissions (Japan & India)
  • MEXT scholarship applications
  • Job applications with Japanese companies
  • Visa procedures (sometimes required for work/study in Japan)

What to do after checking your JLPT result

If you passed

  • Add your JLPT level to your resume, LinkedIn, and job portals.
  • Start using it for job applications or academic programs that require Japanese ability.
  • Plan ahead: If you cleared N5, immediately start preparing for N4 while your basics are fresh.

If you didn’t pass

Don’t feel discouraged! JLPT is tough, and many first-timers don’t clear on the first try.

  • Analyze your Reference Information (A/B/C grades) to see weak areas.
  • Make a focused study plan: e.g., Listening practice if that’s graded C.
  • Try structured preparation—many Indian students struggle with self-study because consistency is hard.

That’s where Yoisho Academy can make a difference. With live classes, digital study material, assignments, and teacher support, we help you prepare in a structured way and stay consistent until you clear your JLPT with confidence.
